The Radius Rasps have a concave form specially designed to remove wall horn in an arc. This action makes the task of rounding the wall edge easier, faster, and more precise than when using rasps that create flat surfaces. Because it can be used one-handed, the other hand is freed to hold and steady the hoof while rasping. Hoof care professionals and horse owners alike will find this tool indispensable. There are two types of Radius Rasp: the rasp-toothed black-handled 'PRO' for beginning the rounding of the hoof wall and the white handled 'Original' with a perforated smooth-shaving blade for making a fine, uniform finish. The RR-1 creates the smoothest finish on the edge of the hoof wall. It is used after the RR-2 in normal trimming and for regular maintenance of the arc of the Mustang Roll between trims. It is 4 1/2' long, 2" wide, weighs 8 oz, and fits in your coat pocket.

The RR-2 is a more accressive wall rounding tool that rapidly creates the arc of of the Mustang Roll during normal trimming. Its curve allows you to rasp well above the outer bearing surface of the hoof wall to extend the arc of the 'roll' upward. It leaves a rougher finish than the RR-1 but cuts faster through the hardened outer layers of the hoof wall.
